For many years, we at Mallow Print have proudly been a partner of the extremely successful, annual Cork City Sports event. We were delighted to be a part of their 2024 event, and this one was even more special as it was the 70th Cork City Sports, and the event is now part of the World Athletics Continental Bronze Tour. Throughout the years we have built close business relationships with Chairman Tony O Connell, secretary Terry O’Rourke, and all their hard working committee and we were delighted to help bring the event to life for yet another very successful year.

Tony and the team approached us at Mallow Print to design and bring a variety of different products to life. This journey began at the start of this year in January, when we sat down and discussed ideas together.

Throughout the last few months, after endless discussions and samples, this year we provided Cork City Sports with a number of products that they were extremely satisfied with. This included tickets, posters, branded jackets for the officials, baseball hats, athlete bib numbers, banners, lanyards, event programmes and on site large-format signs. We were absolutely thrilled that the team was so happy with the final products and that the months of meetings and working together had paid off. It was great to be able to play a part in bringing the day to life after all the work throughout the year.

This collaborative and personal approach ensures a seamless experience for everyone involved. Athletes are guided smoothly through the venue, sponsors see their brands prominently displayed, and attendees find their way with ease. The partnership between Mallow Print and Cork City Sports highlights the importance of cooperation, creativity, and a shared vision in making the Cork City Sports International Athletics a resounding success year after year.
The day of the event came around a short few weeks ago, taking place on the 9th of July at the Munster Technological University Athletics Stadium in Bishopstown, which is now up to international standards with its brand new immaculate eight-lane running track.
It was a fantastic day out and we were delighted to have been a part of it. Some notable mentions of athletes who took part in the event include Sarah Lavin, 100m hurdles, former olympic athlete Michelle Finn, upcoming 2024 Olympic athletes and Cork local legends Phil Healy and Sophie O’Sullivan, daughter of the infamous Sonia O’Sullivan, who also attended the event herself! It was a great achievement to see some of the athletes who will be competing in the Olympics in Paris this year involved with a local Cork event.
The event was an outstanding success. It was great to see such a high turn out and such a significant interest in athletics in the Cork City area. The event ran so smoothly and the whole committee were delighted with how the day turned out. We thoroughly enjoyed our day, and we also enjoyed the whole process of working with Tony, Terry and all the Cork City Sports committee to help bring all of their printing and signage needs to life for such a great event. It was an enjoyable process from start to finish, and we are delighted to have built such a great relationship with all the team. We atMallow Print look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence and innovation in support of Cork City Sports, proving once again that teamwork and partnerships really does make a difference!
‘Just to say that over the years it is fantastic to deal with a company like Mallow Print that provides everything you need for running an International Athletics Meet like the World Athletics 70th Cork City Sports on Tuesday the 9th July last. All is done under the one roof. And the team at Mallow Print are so efficient. We would like to thank Siobhan and John, Paul and Colin and all the team for all the help they have given us over the years and hope that this relationship can continue. Looking forward to catching up shortly. Thanks again for your help.’ – Tony O’Connell, Chairperson, Cork City Sports
